Collaboration
Education
The University of Rhode Island (URI) faculty, staff and student research discoveries lead to new companies, cutting-edge patents, and innovative public-private partnerships. The URI Research Foundation (URIRF) oversees market analysis, commercialization of protected intellectual property, and the development of business relationships with corporate and government partners. These commercialization activities advance Rhode Island’s economy while improving society and human lives.
URIRF’s Polaris MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) helps local manufacturers innovate by working with URI inventors to bring technology to market through Research & Development contracts, capstone projects, and licensing deals – all to advance RI’s manufacturing growth and economic development.
